She has a plan; she's going to seduce the king, marry him and be crowned queen, and then she's going to murder him and take his kingdom for herself. I wouldn't say no to more of Alessandra and Kallias but as a standalone, it's perfect. I am so happy about that. I think its because I am veering away from fantasy. And Alessandra was such a captivating heroine. Not to worry though, they are both very witty and the tension is definitely there. Alessandra is an awful person but easy to understand in a world where she is being sold off in marriage by her bankrupt father. There was never a dull moment and I couldn't put it down. He grew up with the king but they have since grown apart despite Leandros still residing in his court. And I wanted to stand up and clap. Is The Shadows Between Us appropriate?
