The characters were carbon copies of the Potter world, they fell extremely flat, the plot had no structure. Homegirl just wanted to hang out with her Normal friends, she didn't sign up for no crazed magicians and deaths. But let's all be serious here for a second, because the real draw of this book that puts it over the top is absolutely the gay wizard romance aspect.
