Use a light film of clean engine oil on the fuel injector o-rings when reinstalling. '90 eunos roadster, classic red. It started right up and no leaks. The 1999-2001 manual does not show the VVT assembly. I will be replacing the valve cover gasket tomorrow and cannot seem to find the torque requirements anywhere on the internet. In there it says 43-78 in-lbs, so both 55 and 75 are within range. I have a small torque wrench for the operation and always test it will click at 60 in lbs by trying it on a larger, higher torqued bolt that is already in place before I start on the little valve cover bolts.
I went with 65 inch pounds and definitely felt like that wasn't going full Hulk on the bolts so I upped it to 70 for two final passes through the pattern to get me inside the spec from the NB2 manual. For future reference, you shouldn't need to remove the fuel supply rail and injectors to replace the PCV elbow, it should come out as an assembly with the lower intake manifold. I usually take a mid point as my torque target, so 60 probably would have been what I used and I never had any issues with leakage or broken bolts. What kind of tips are you looking for, tips for installing the valve cover gaskets? I'll keep watching over the next several days/weeks.
This snowballed into a tune-up which I had oil on the plug boots, so valve cover gaskets. No leaks, no runs, no errors (as in no broken bolts). I used 60 in lbs on mine. Should I clean the hole where the injector goes?
