While I have no consequential data that this miss was an indication of a sticky valve, I can indisputably say I haven't had a miss in cruise since. It idled perfectly at 900RPM's. The only issue he's had in the time we've been together was a misfire. This stuff is great.

Lycoming valve stems operate at higher temperatures than Continentalvalves stems. So I am a new-comer to the MMO product. This process used the springs of the valve to exert force on the lifter to compress it (it took anywhere from 1-10 minutes per lifter). Up to this point, my old philosophy has held true. Eithersituation is quite serious. I don't know if it freed stuff up or if the vapors from it screwed up some sensor the triggered the computer to make it idle faster. While I kindly acknowledged and appreciated the advice, the last two recommendations were also listed in Lycoming Service Letter L197A. And I don't mean the Hollywood kind.... Both will do a little different thing, but your car will love you for it. Obviously the exhaust valve is not involved. If you notice a missing rotator cap, it is likely thatthe exhaust valve was stuck open in the past. It certainly is a mystery what's in it and what it does!!! The next step is to prevent the valve from entering the cylinder while being compressed. Larry T. OK, I'll bite, what is the issue with Tranny fluid? Youmay want to review the operating environment of the engine. If you pull the heads and check the valve seats and the seating area of the valve you should be able to see sings of metal sticking to one of the other and pits in the other surface if this is happening.
What I thought was a big problem, had a cheap fix. After that, I used a 3/8-inch short wood dowel resting against the top of the exhaust valve. I suggest using a mechanical pick-up tool that has a light at the end. Ranch.. all been written a dozen times.. try searching.. everyone has their opinions.. I've been pondering spending another 20K $$ on a new Ranger, and saw the beautiful MMO can on the shelf and thought..... why not?
