The building also includes condo units with 930 square feet with two bedrooms, an ensuite Master Bedroom bath, and a full hall bath. But the rusted components in the dishwasher and in the guest shower, we felt should have been addressed. This is a condo to consider when traveling to the Big Island.
We were there in February and there is little or nothing to do. We stayed at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club Condo 2 - 102 for 9 nights (July 24 - Aug 2/22). It has changed since the renters packet was undated. The unit is nicely set-up for families, with a fairly well-stocked kitchen (including dishwashing detergent, plenty of tea towels etc) and basic laundry facilities. The unit was comfortable. This ground floor unit was nice, well equipped but looked like it was being upgraded and was 3/4 done. The proximity to a main highway made it convenient for us to explore other parts of the island to the north and south. Not enough towels, A. was too loud, interior needs updated, ice maker in fridge not working, pillows were worn out and flat, not as clean as I would have hoped, trouble with entry lock and gate, no washer and dryer in unit, grill area needs a cover, it's in the parking lot.
These were minor things and all and all we really enjoyed our stay. We really appreciate all of your feedback and suggestions. Maybe even stand up fans would have helped. The bedrooms were very spacious and well equipped with fans but they could really use air conditioning. I would definitely recommend this property. The grounds were beautiful with lots to do. This captivating village features dockside restaurants with bars offering live musical entertainment, an assortment of specialty shops, family amusements that include a soaring Zip Line ride, and other delightful diversions. Monthly Rentals can be booked online and are subject to an additional $150 cleaning fee. We loved having breakfast on the lanai and watching the spinner dolphins go by, and the sunsets every night. Overall, it was just okay for me. Condo was renovated in 2018/2019 to include window/door replacement, all new wood plank tile flooring throughout, floor plan was opened up to maximize view, kitchen renovation included new stainless appliances, stunning quartzite countertops, and beautiful tile work, crown molding, and No popcorn ceilings in this unit! The screens on the windows and doors would not close properly, letting in mosquitos that gave my wife numerous bites. What is not to love? My only wish was that the screen doors could be locked so we could leave them open during the day while we went out for short spurts. Unit is dated, the carpet in the living room needs replaced.. everywhere else is tile. We have stayed at HSRC for over 8 years. I huge distraction to my relaxation because of extra unnecessary clean up. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed for a one week stay. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, and lots of beach gear (chairs, boogie boards, two coolers, pool noodles, and more that we didn't use).
