I've been applying with no luck for 6-7 years, back when the old Housing Connect website was still around. Can't wait to receive an official move in date! After following up once or twice a week for 2 months I was finally contacted in June 2021 to view the apartment. Did that make the process go quicker? It pains me seeing people ask why they can only move into a one bedroom unit when they have the income for a two bedroom when the voucher states what unit you can move into. I'm rooting for you! I have CB preference and I believe I had municipal preference, too (I work for CUNY, if that counts). I got a 3 bedroom unit. From what I heard you could be ineligible due to falling in between income ranges but I would wait for the agency to let you know that for sure and try anyways.
I just won (literally yesterday) my lottery apartment! That's a great building, 2 bed 2 bath goes for 12k to 15k per month market rate. That means your Tenant Income Certification (TIC) was already approved by HPD. I'm excited to share! I just was approved for a Mini Lottery from housing connect 2. That's how I won my unit. So, yeah you' should def try your preference. I didn't notice until I read a horror story from a font on here about her building. Keep up the great stories and thanks to you all for sharing. However, HUD reviews files according to log #s. My log is 2, XXX w/ CB & city worker preference.
