I don't necessarily mean that the pacing slows down or that the plotting loses focus, but the show has just sort of worn out its welcome and becomes gradually less engrossing. The second arc jumps ahead a few years, and somehow it doesn't take too long for the whole world to hate Simon and equate him with their former oppressor.
