I've bought guns just to get the Spegel grips that were on them--one was a 4" 686 with round to square Macassar Ebony grips, the other most recently was a duplicate 66 2. Subjectively my choices for "best" are: - Uncle Mike's rubber boot grip. That was Bud s Guns.

With the extended rubber Hogue grips, the recoil is more straight back because your little finger is no longer tucked under the grip. Handgun Reloading Dies. I'm really not a fan of rubber at all.
