Turns over but won't start. Wait awhile, then try it again. DON'T turn the steering shaft or wheels when the shaft is disconnected. One day I started it and it would barely idle and if I put it in drive it would just bog down.
Plugs were changed a little over 6 months ago but i pulled two or 3 and they all look fine they have gas on them? I also checked the fuses and all light up but what I did find is a manufacturer defect on my plug wires and all of them are arcing on the exhaust manifolds. He does not have a lot of money to throw at unneeded parts (or a pro mechanic), so here's what we have for symptoms and have done... No prior troubles, except the fuel pump was replaced about a year ago. 5.7 vortec no start has fuel and spark will. I've replaced ECM, distributor module, spark control module, new coil, has new cap and rotor button, over the last 2 years it's had new starter motor, new iac, tps coolant temp sensor, oil pressure sensor, oxygen sensor, new plugs and leads. Now it just cranks no sputter at all. If the cap is cracked or damaged, it could impair the charge's ability to flow. She cranks and almost wants to start.... but just can't get over that 'hump'. If the spark plug is worn out, damaged, or fouled, it can lose its ability to generate a spark. Wires were causing a ground problem which was blowing a fuse and causing no spark along with other problems. Posts: 1, 311. do you have a check engine lite on, with key on engine off? I'm basically down intermittent fuel pump failure or sensor malfunctions. So you are only getting spark to 1, 2, 4, and 7? Intake EVAP vacuum lines are dry as when they are wet I know that to be a symptom of a bad fuel pressure regulator and so are black spark plugs.

So, the injector fuse and relay are usually located; in the relay box or power distribution center in the engine compartment. I wish I could plug the scanner in and watch the data while cranking. He says I can also get an inspection mirror and look at the switch, it probably has a charred plastic body. It turned out spark was dead under compression. If the coil is very old, it may be best to replace it, but usually, when a spark is seen, the coil is good. A guy brought us a 97 S10 w/4. 5.7 vortec no start has fuel and spark engine. The truck is a 98 gmc 5. Nothing, has 60psi fuel pressure. The PCM commands the module to fire the ignition coil, and if the coil is producing spark, it's probably not the module. That being said, our 98 K2500 was running extreemly rough when we got it, we did exactly what you said and it checked out perfect, just running a bit rich. IF if did and its clearly a fuel related issue and we are on the right track. 98 5.7L cranks but no start, new fuel pump, cap, and rotor. Now if it starts and quits then you have to look futher. Having a good spark plug test tool is a good idea as they are low-cost and easy to use. If it is, make sure there is power to it. Check for Injector Pulse. Yeah... we are only getting AC Delco parts from now on...
By the way, we have killed several vortec 5. Aside from that, the only supplies you'll need are the hand tools for removing the ignition coil from the vehicle. My fuel pressure is 13 psi and compression is 176 +/- 2 psi in both directions. I am open to any advice. Everything is back together and im tring to get it to fire but no spark im getting fuel but not getting spark i have replace the ignition coil icm, distributor, and the crankshaft position sensor. Do you loose spark or fuel? Do this if you haven't already. Fuel pressure 38-40 PSI so fuel pump works. Thats why I posted that, as I don't know any other "low tech" way to do it. All of my grounds are good, I have checked a couple of cylinders and have good compression but I will go back and check all 8 cylinders.
These trucks are known for have some common issues that result in a no start. I will try to look up the wiring diagram at, but I have tried stuff there before and not been able to find it at all. You can easily check with a power probe on the most easily reached injector. I drove home from work on Friday and the truck ran fine. Also check both ground wires from back of motor to good clean may be something simple... try turning the dist... a little and see if it will have to be set right on (0) or will not run...
