Hodges was a past charter member of the Belhaven Lions Club, he served on the Town of Belhaven Board for twenty-six years, was a retired Volunteer Fireman of the Belhaven Volunteer Fire Department having served for thirty-three years, was a member of the Belhaven Masonic Lodge 509 AF&AM and a member of the American Legion Post 249 for sixty-one years.
