I am leaning towards thinking your oil lift pump is getting weak. It sends these signals to the ECU and to your oil pressure gauge or warning light. But, low/ uneven readings, probably mean internal troubles that are affecting the signals to the pump. New tank should arrive on Thursday. He spent a few hours chasing the code yesterday and running tests and basically determined nothing was wrong. I think the fix is worth a try but I got in touch with my long time outboard lower unit guru and he s ays he fixes these bad boys up no sweat so I'll go with that. Ning and electrical system under. PS: Just thought of an easier way to check that pressure switch warning. Just be sure to bleed the oil line before restarting the engine to purge any air that got in during the cleaning process. Fitted new parts to tank then installed before connecting clamps etc. They hooked it up to the computer and it is still throwing the same code.
Usually, we just swap out the gages if they are in question. Replace it yourself for a lot less money. Replaced the oil reservoir which has the low oil sensor in the bottom of it. The float seems to get saturated if/when different oil brands get used.
